Does anyone have much experience with intraoperative exams. Our Gastro doc worked with a surgeon on a patient. The surgeon started out doing a laparoscopy, then moved aside and our doc did a colon and EGD and then the surgeon took over again and did a complete resection.
They each had distinct parts ???62 modifier, but they are not billing the same procedure code so I didn't think this would work. Does each bill his distinct service without any modifiers attached as if they were not done during the same operative session??
