General surgeon was performing a laparoscopic appendectomy and called my provider (gyn) to do a intraoperative consult and exam the pelvis. The gyn scrubbed in and only looked at the pelvis with the laparoscope. OP report states "I was called in during laparoscopic appendectomy to evaluate the pelvis for bleeding, apparently preexisting to procedure. I performed an inspection of the pelvic contents ... At that point my portion of procedure was completed"

I believe I should code this 49320 with modifier 52. Any other thoughts.
Thank you

I would ask why you are considering mod -22 for this scenario. It seems like the general surgeon placed the scope, and closed the patient. Gyn came in and looked through the scope already placed by another physician.
