Neurovascular TCD exams provide dynamic visualization of blood flow velocities and direction of flow in cerebral arteries. These exams are frequently used in conjunction with other imaging modalities to add real time blood flow monitoring through stenotic regions or in hemorrhagic vessels. The digital power M-Mode allows the operator to rapidly find windows and to see 64 mm of depth in a single view. This study is reimbursable under CPT code 93886, TCD - Complete Exam.

Hello, I was just about to post a message in regards to this. Code 76998 can be billed with 35301.
76998 - Ultrasonic guidance, intraoperative
76998 - Ultrasonic guidance, intraoperative

I use 93880 if duplex u/a is used , for complete bilateral, and if unilateral, use 93882.

What if all he mentions in his op note is: A steril doppler probe was utilized to demonstrate normal flow patterns in all involved vessels. Is this enough documentation to bill?
