Our neurosurgeon is using intraoperative fluroscopy during spine procedures and I am somewhat confused on the correct coding for the professional component of this. My understanding is that 76496-26 is not the code that should be used. Please help!!!

what other codes are being used, and what year are they billing in? the unlisted may be correct, just depends on what else is billed.

The use of intraoperative fluoro does not result in a report or any particular professional service. Most payers consider it bundled and I can never justify a separate charge for it--it would make no sense. Where is the professional service?
