Need some clarification on vaginal deliveries done with intrathecal injections. We have had situations when two injections were given. Is it correct to bill with 59409 with 01960 or simply use 62311? Can you be paid for two injections?

If your provider is placing an epidural and then dosing it later you should bill 01967. If he/she is giving a single intrathecal injection you can bill 62311. I have never had a situation where I've had to bill two injections for a labor. Mainly this is because 01967 includes any subsequent dosing or catheter placement.
