CMS to resume bundling Global Surgical Codes with Eye Visit Codes Effective July 1, 2014. Under this NCCI edit does anyone know whether or not you can use an E&M code with the mod 25 for intravitreal injections?
 
I have been looking for answers to this question too. I have only seen where they are allowed with a modifier 25 when the office call is "seperately identifiable" from the injection.
 
If the reason for the visit is the injection, no they cant do an E/M unless there is a new issue. If they come in for E/M and decide to do the injection, I bill the E/M and the injection with 25.

Its all dependent on the reason for the encounter.
