I cannot find exactly what I am looking for. I understand how IP consults code but my question is if IP consults are limited from admit to admit. Say an attending dr. requests my dr. for a consult in April for CAD and then the same patient, either the same or even different admitting dr. requests consult again for another admit, does the dx have to be different from the first consult or does the requesting dr. need to be different from the first admit? I think maybe someone is getting office side mixed up with IP hospital.
