Patient had a previous Metacarpophalangeal fusion ( 26850) . She has returned now and doctor states the
fusion has not been progressing as expected. Wants to take her back to sugery to augment
the fusion with a bone graft and a figure of eight wire to help with compression. Then he is going to do an endoscopic carpal tunnel ( 29848).
So I know the carpal tunnel, but any suggestions with the augmentation of a bone graft and figure of eight wire ? I really, really need help. Surgery has not been done as yet, but need proposed codes for the insurance company precert.
Do I use the 26852 ? I don't think he is redoing the whole fusion. Thank you
