Hi! I need some assistance coding IR catheter removal for an inpatient. We bill for the Radiologist who inserts the catheter (32557), but on occasion, a different Radiologist removes the catheter (in the same physician group). Currently, we are coding the removal with E/M code (99231). Is this the appropriate code for the removal? There doesn't appear to be removal code, unless the catheter is tunneled, which these are not. Is the E/M appropriate or is the unlisted code 32999 (unlisted procedure, lings and pleura) appropriate? Thank you!
