Pt. Had scheduled c section at 33 weeks for twins. Four months of care all provided by our doctors, pt. saw no one else, and did not switch insurances. Would you bill the Global? Thank you.
 
Neither CPT nor ACOG have a defined number of minimal visits for a global OB billing charge. Some payers do have stated policies for the minimum number of visits needed and range between 4 and 10. I have posed the question to ACOG in the past and the recommendation is to confirm with payers. We have established that if there is not other care nor a break in coverage and no payer definition that the minium number of visits will be 7 which is also consistent with ACOG's recommendation.
