Release of IT(iliotibial) band in the knee and dx IT band tendinitis....
I'm looking at 726.69 but if you look under IT band syndrome goes towards 728.89?

When you google IT band tendonitis it references to Iliotibial band syndrome. AHA Coding clinic indicates that IT band syndrome is to be coded 728.89. I would think 728.89 is the one to use.
 
However my reply is based on what you have posted. If there are other causes of this tendonitis you will want to look to those conditions/causes as well.
