If a patient is seen in the morning (outpatient hospital) and received 30 minutes of antibiotic IV administration at 1230-1300 and is discharged only to later come back in the evening at 2258-2327 would you charge just the initial 96365 as it voers up to 1 hour even though it is on 2 seperate encounters for the day? This seems to confuse me for some reason and would like anothers opinion as I would think that the 96365 would be all I would charge.

You need to determine how the claim goes out. If the whole day charges go out on one claim, then yes you need to add the IV times together and bill 93635, as you cannot have two primary IV codes billed on the same day/claim.
