HOw do we bill for meds given in hospital? Such as a piggy back push of rocephin? Use the code J0696? What about a modifier?? Thanks for your help!!

If you are billing for the physician then you do not bill for these the facility will bill for these as it is their nurse and their drugs. If you are billing for the facility then the drugs are usually coded thru the chargemaster, and most of the time the administration code is coded thru the chargemaster as well, it just depends on the facility.
