Wiki Job Offer After Failed Test?

Has anyone ever still received a job offer even after failing a pre-employment coding test? I get pre-test nerves and do not do well on the tests. After the test is finished and handed in, I realize that I missed something or coded something differently. How do I get past this?

In my experience, the recruiters have scored the assessment and have no clue if the answer key is actually correct. They also will tell you if you can take the test again immediately, wait 6 months to re-test, etc.. I know I have taken assessments where the answers were either from a previous year's manual or the answers were all incorrect. It's very frustrating.
