Hello! My name is Katrina Ray and I have a bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, and I received my CPC in January. I am struggling with trying to find positions for apprentice coders. Do you have any advice?
I agree. This took me a lot of time and effort. How am I supposed to keep practicing my skills if I can’t even find work?! What was the point? This is very disappointing to hear that a person who chooses this field and invests time, effort, and money in education will then be unable to work in their chosen field.
Question- when you say internship…does the position pay?I obtained my CPC-A in November of 2025. It was discouraging looking for positions because they all were looking for experience, but I was able to land a Revenue Intergrity Intern position where I am getting hands on experience with coding for different specialties. So like Pam said a few responses above, it is best to try to get your foot in the door in the revenue cycle in general so that you can move around and get into a specialty or practice you enjoy. Doing this internship will allow me to get my A removed as well as have experience which will open up more doors. Hope this helps.![]()
