Good Morning,
Dear all respected members,
I would like to inquire about Local Anesthesia Drug for example injection lidocaine using along with CPT 20610. should it be part of procedure or we can bill it separately . As most of the providers are billing separately this drug along with this code
thanks and regards .

Good Morning,

This is included in the procedure, if you take a quick look at the surgical guidelines at the beginning of the section- Under CPT surgical package definition, one of the specifics included listed is stated as " local infiltration, metacarpal/metatarsal/digital block or topical anesthesia." In my experience it has always been the 20610 for the major joint asp/inj with the drug code for injection like the steroid I found most common for drug injections. Hope that helps.
