Hi All,
I am new to coding pain management, new to coding in general, and I am trying to see if I can find any information on coding Ketamine infusions and Botox injections.
Here is my situation.
I joined a practice that is coding/billing for CRNA's that are working within a hospital system doing these infusions and injections and the previous coder who worked on this account coded the ketamine infusion as 99215 and the botox as 99214. I know that the injections themselves fall under different procedural codes and what I am assuming is the case is that the hospital is billing those procedural codes and we are submitting the H&P codes for the monitoring portion of their visit.
The difficult part lies in that about a week before I started, the coder who held this account left so I cannot turn to that resource to ask the method for this clinic.
Has anyone done similar coding that may be able to offer some explanation as to why this may be the case?
