If a patient has DMII controlled, chronic renal insufficiency, PVD, and hypertension, should we code the hypertension with a 403.90 along with 250.40, 585.9, 250.70, and 443.81?

Reporting CKD with hypertension

Yes, according to ICD-9 coding guidelines, a code from category 403 should be used to report hypertension with chronic kidney disease. I hope this helps.
