How would you code the folllowign scenario? Pt comes complaining of knee pain for the past month. She had a knee replacement 2 yrs ago.

is this a complication code followed by a v code for the replacement?

996.77 and v43.65
 
Knee pain only, not a complication of a procedure done two years prior, perhaps just a normal progression of knee degeneration not causally related to the replacement of the knee.
