L1 modifier, I am having some difficulty figuring out when you can and cant use it correctly. If you are coding for a hospital and there is several physicians that are hospitalists and are running labs, can you still use the L1 modifer? To my understanding L1 is not used when they come into an outpatient clinic at the hospital or thru the ER. Hoping someone can shed some light on this.
