I am trying to help a friend and I don't bill labs so I am confused by what she is being told. My friend's doctor is in Florida but she lives in Georgia, she gets her labs drawn in Georgia at the insurance approved lab but because her doctor is in Florida, they tell her that it has to be billed from the state the doctor is located in, the approved lab for the insurance company is different in Florida than it is in Georgia, so the claim is denied as out of network. Has anyone encountered anything like this? Any ideas on how we can resolve it?
