Thanks for helping me out with this one. Here is the scenario:

There is a Methodone Clinic, and the owner is a License Pharmacy. He is given an order by the doctor to check his patients for Meth with a Urinalysis. He can bill for that and the code numbers I have are:

CPT: 80101 QW
DX: V58.6X

I need to know if another DX has to follow with V586X or Modifier? I don't think it needs a modifier since it is only the Urinalysis the Pharmacy is checking.

Just want to be sure!

Thanks,
Sarah, CPC

V58.69 is long-term use of methadone, but you seem to be screening for meth use. Shouldn't this be a screening code for meth, or is the pt's meth use already confirmed and this is follow up?

yes the use is confirmed and this is a follow-up...any help you can give me is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
