Is it appropriate to code 644.13 (threatened labor) if a patient is admitted for delivery from the ob triage?

That would be dependent upon the weeks of pregnancy see also 645.1x and 645.2x

If the patient is being admitted because she is going to deliver, then 644.13 is no longer appropriate since that code states "without delivery". If she is not yet 37 weeks gestation you could use 644.20 until the delivery happens, then it would be 644.21.

If the patient is at term, then you would use 650 according to the information in the ICD-9 book.
