Hope someone can help me understand this---

In the following Blood Bank Product P codes listed below, the description includes irradiation (CPT 86945 ).
Previous Red Cross Seminars instructed that we could not bill separately for irradiation if the term-irradiation
was defined in the name of the product. Then when checking the CMS website for CCI edits we discovered
the products listed with irradiation in the naming convention being billable with a separate irradiation charge-86945, as long as
a modifier is attached.
