I would like to know if we have a patient who comes in and wants labs, can we do them without the doctor seeing them first? If the patient is a long standing patient. The same with one doing a U/A, if they have a history of UTI's. Thanks Lynn

Labs

Lynn, I Have Been In My Internists Office For 9 Years. There Are No Guidelines That State The Doctor Has To See The Patient And Order The Labs. However, In Our Office We Make It A Good Rule Of Thumb To Atleast Ask The Doctor Before Ordering Random Tests. Hope This Helps. Thanks Nicole

Order

I also agree as long as it was ordered by an MD.
