Would like other coders input on post partum lactation counseling done the physicians office. Is the post partum lactation counseling billable or is it included in the global package? In researching I have found different opinions from yes it is covered to it's part of the global. If billable what E & M code would you use or would you use the HCPS S9436-S9438 or S9442-S9443. The counseling is done by an RN who is certified in lactation counseling.
