Physician states he did a Laminectomy to remove hematoma but he is already at the site for the instrumentation insertion. Would you bill for the Lami? Below is the paragraph in question:
Pedicle screw fixation was performed from T10 to L4 bilateral pedicles. T12 level did not have instrumentation placed secondary to the T12 Chance Fx. After the screws were placed using AP and lateral fluoroscopic imaging, the decompression was then performed utilizing the Midas drill bit at T12-L1. A small epidural hematoma that was noncompressible was identified and evacuated.
