How would you code a diagnostic laparoscopy that turned into a laparotomy with excision of twisted right adnexa?
 
If a diagnostic laparoscopy only was scheduled, then you can bill 49320 with 58940. Make sure diagnoses are specific and appropriate for each procedure.
 
Thank you for your response. I was thinking that the laparoscope couldn't be billed since the end result was the surgical procedure.
