Our plastic surgeon is using a 15 x 10 cm scrotal advancement flap, and a 20 x 30 rotational gluteal flap to fill a perineal defect. Do you code these two flaps separately, or combine them as they are filling one huge defect? I was thinking of using the 14300 for the scrotal advancement flap, and 15734 for the rotational gluteal flap. Is this appropriate to use both for one very large defect?
Thanks for any help at all...and if anyone has any literature to share, it'd would be very much appreciated.
Thank you,
Lisa May, CPC

I probably should have mentioned that the gluteal flap involved taking up the fascia, as well.
But, it's good to know you'd bill for two flaps. Thank you...
Is that what everyone else would do, too?
