Hello all,
While reviewing LCD# L35936 guidelines, I found below line,
A maximum of five (5) facet joint injection sessions inclusive of medial branch blocks, intraarticular injections, facet cyst rupture and RF ablations may be performed per year in the cervical/thoracic spine and five (5) in the lumbar spine.
My question is,
Whether the 5 session injections includes bilateral side (the overall lumber spine (L1-L5)) or not?
If my physician exceeds more than 5 session during the same calendar year, then what should be done in this case?
Please suggest me, how to proceed with these questions. Your prompt attention is greatly appreciated.
