Can anyone give me some useful advice on how to go about reviewing the LCD's when a CPT/HCPCS code has been kicked out in a scrubber edit. We used to use the Trailblazer website, and now have been told to use a Novitas website, but I have trouble finding any information in Novitas.

I usually just google for the LCD using the procedure number in the search, I can find many LCDs this way. However first thing to check is whether you used an unspecified dx code. many will kick out for this. also check the exclusions in the ICD-9 CM book, if you use 2 dx codes that are excluded from each other this will cause the same edit.

Thanks. I have tried google occasionally, but was not sure if that was the best avenue to take. I'll check it out again.

Will also try the CMS website. It just seems a little difficult to maneuver in when I have gone there before, but I'll check it out.

Thanks, everyone.
