If a patient had a lesion removal done on a finger in the hospital, should or could anesthesia or recovery room be billed separately? Nothing complex done. Only local anesthesia administered. Don't know why recovery room would be utilized with local anesthesia.

Thank you

Depends on the hospital. There should be no need for recovery so I would believe this should be minimal if any at all. Anesthesia is usually for the drugs of the anesthetist - in this case there was only lidocaine or marcaine or similar which costs next to nothing.

Therefore I do not see why there should be a charge.

My experience is a hospital will charge ridiculous fees to self pay.
