An interesting question has come my way and I do not have the statistics for this particular question however the basic principles to protect the business or individual from third-party claims leads me to say a practice should always have liability insurance in case of unwanted things, something that could alleviate or completely solve the financial burden when faced with lawsuits, audits and so one.

What would be the percentage of practices who carrier insurance to protect themselves against RAC audits and/or HIPAA audits per say?

I'm not sure if this falls under Professional Liability insurance or not - I'm thinking not but I'm not sure what type of insurance this would really fall under, if you have time could you offer me suggestions on where to look to better understand?

Thank you,
Summer
