Does anyone bill 65772 with 66984? CCI edits state 65772 is a column 2 code for 66984 but can be billed with modifier. I am new to coding these and our previous coder ALWAYS billed the 2 together if performed. We have been getting paid, but I do not want to continue billing this way if it is incorrect. Thank you!

Limbal Relaxing Incisions

Yes, you can bill the two codes together. The code is appropriate to use when the patient had a previous surgery that resulted in an astigmatism. The physician at a later date brings the patient back in to the operating room to correct the problem.

However, if the patient elects to have a limbal relaxing incision and has never had surgery this would not be an appropriate code. This would not be considered medically necessary.
