Hi, my providers made incisions over the lipomas and squeezed them out. They were encapsulated and came out easily. Wounds are closed in layers. How to code this squeezing procedure?

I believe the squeeze technique which involves making an incision large enough for expulsion of the smaller lipomas and then squeezing it out of the incision is a fairly common technique. It is still surgical removal of a benign lesion and unless deep in the subfascial or muscular tissue would be reported as excision of a benign skin lesion (eg, 11400).

I hope that is helpful.

Thank you!
