I need some help on charging out local tenums. I researched and found the MCR wants a modifier and BCR wants a modifier. Can anyone tell me what modifier commercial carriers want? Also, anyother information would be helpful. Thanks Annette
 
Here's a link that explains it a little better...

The regular physician identifies the services as substitute physician services meeting the requirements of this section by appending HCPCS modifier -Q6 (service furnished by a locum tenens physician) to the procedure code. The regular physician must keep on file a record of each service provided by the substitute physician, associated with the substitute physician's NPI/UPIN, and make this record available to the Medicare Carrier upon request.
