I've been researching a question and have been unable to get a definitive answer. Here is the issue. Until recently we employed one full-time and 4 part-time pediatric intensivist . The full-time physician left so the part-timers rotate to provide coverage. There have been times when they have hired a locum to cover when the part-time MD's could not cover. My question is would the part-time physician fulfill the “regular physician” requirement to bill as a locum? I appreciate any assistance
