We have a pain management doctor that travels to other locations to perform services. At times he is out of the office for 1 - 2 weeks. In addition, he will have a week off 2-3 times a year for vacation. We would like to have someone come 1 - 2 times a month to assist with the office flow of the patients. We are currently open part time for the month. Is this something we can use a locum tenum for? We are not needing to add them to the practice permanently to grow the practice or to avoid getting them enrolled with insurance plans. It is something to assist with patient care.

Also, is there a limit of time the provider can come to the office as far as time frame for number of days and length of time for the locum tenum services?

We appreciate any feedback you can provide.
