Help ASAP. I have a doctor who is seeing a patient in Critical Care at the hospital and the patient is being transferred to a Long Term Care facility. The provider thinks that when the PCP calls him to see the patient when he is in the LTC that he can now bill another 99223. I think that this patient would be established and he should bill a 99233. Please help me with this and where can I find this in writing. Thanks
 
He can bill the 99223 if the hospital and the LTC are both different entities (different tax ids)
