What constitutes long-term insulin use (V58.67). I've been told it has to be six conseuctive months or longer. Any thoughts or input? Does anyone have any specific guidelines from AMA or AAPC?
 
if you look closely at the code it states long term(current) drug use. It is if the patient is currently prescribed a drug with the intention of long term use. There is no time frame defined.
