When coding for an allergic reaction to food item in the profee setting would this be considered a chronic condition with acute exacerbation? My thought process is that an allergy such as nuts and shellfish is not curable but is treatable so it would be a chronic condition, right? I would be so thankful for some clarification in my thought process.

An allergic reaction is an acute issue...... the patient is not constantly having the reaction, even with an allergy to food. You're coding the reaction, not the underlying allergy.
If the provider is treating with SCIT or SLIT would that be considered as treating a chronic condition because they are being treated for allergy and not the reaction?

Well, the complaint was allergic reaction.... not simply the ongoing allergy. So it depends on the nature of the presenting problem and what the medication is treating. If the meds were for surveillance treatment only, then yes; but this case indicates an acute problem.
