Can someone help me with some kind of clear definition for the depth of a lymph node excision selection of CPT code. 38500/38510 superficial vs deep which one to choose when coding cervial lymph node excisions. What are some of the key words I am to look for when in the neck region.

The surgeon refers to the platysma often and it seems superficial to me? How do I know when to use deep?
