LYMPHOSCINTIGRAPHY
Following intradermal dermal injections of 0.5 mci filtered Tc 99m
sulfur colloid (in 0.5 cc) in the 1st web space of each foot,
serial images were obtained at vary interval for several hours.
There is prompt flow through the two main lymphatic trunks of the
lower extremities. Lymphatic flow in both calves and both thighs
and ilioinguinal lymph nodes are symmetric. Liver/spleen
visualization is explained by Tc 99m sulfur colloid entering the
systemic circulation through the thoracic duct. Minimal bladder
visualization is probably due to free pertechnetate. There is no
focus of increased activity to suggest a communication between the
lymphatic system and GU system to explain chyluria.
Impression: normal lymphocscintigraphy. No lymphatic communication
with the GU system was identified.
