When documenting a perioperative regional anesthesia procedure, physicians must clearly distinguish its purpose. If the planned surgical anesthetic relies on a regional anesthesia procedure, then the block should be considered as the primary anesthetic. Billing it as a postoperative analgesic would be improper.
I understand that statement above. I have question if block for post op pain can be reported with primary MAC anesthesia. This case is for ORIF of radius fracture. in this case the block is 64415( brachial plexus)
