Removal infected port ONLY

Can someone tell me what cpt code to use for excisional removal of infected imbedded vascular access PORT only. The catheter stayed in. There looks to be an old code that would've covered it but it was deleted. :( I've considered foreign body removal but not sure how to proceed on that one.

For an accurate response to surgical/procedure coding questions, please post the scrubbed operative / procedure note.

That being said ... have you considered 36590 (mod 52)? (Though, honestly, I don't know a doctor who would remove ONLY the port if it were infected; they'd want to remove the entire device, port + catheter to remove all source of infection.)
