Hi,

Which code should we use for "male erectile disorder"? Only this is mentioned in the Dx.

302.72 or 607.84

Hi

Male Erectile disorder is coded as 302.72. ICD 9 CM index leads this way....Dysfunction, erectile, non-organic orgin. The notes under 302.72 elucidates "Male erectile disorder".

ICD 607.84 is applicable when the patient has a medical or a surgical condition in the form of any physiological damage that has resulted in the erectile disorder.

302.72 is more of psychological than a medical factor and the reverse is true for 607.84.

Hope this helps.
