Hi everyone, I have a provider who is doing a manipulation of the hip but without general anesthesia. Any idea on how to code this?

Procedure note:
Diagnosis: Chronic right hip pain with possible subluxation or dislocation.

Procedure: Manipulation of the right hip under fluoroscopic guidance to evaluate placement, Dr. Gehling present as well patient is able to feel a popping sensation in the hip was able to recreate on the table with AP and lateral views without movement of the hip out of the joint also movement and manipulation of the hip did not displace the hip either patient most likely is having snapping hip syndrome from a tendon element all questions answered in office today patient has been given a script for physical therapy to move forward with for stretching strengthening if needed will consider injection over the snapping hip syndrome. Patient has been given follow-up

Thanks!

I would suggest 77071 actually since they were doing it under fluro/Ap lateral views to assess/diagnose more than manipulate a fracture or confirmed dislocation.

77071 - manual application of stress performed by physician or other QHP for joint radiography, including contralateral joint if indicated.
