Male patient having a mastectomy for cancer. Would that be coded as a simple mastectomy.

If surgeon performs a nipple sparing mastectomy, is that always coded as a subcutaneous or could it be coded as a simple mastectomy. My surgeon is telling me it is the same as a simple mastectomy with more work involved.
