We are a GI practice that is part of a larger multi specialty group, would notes/labs from other MDs within the group be considered external? I understand that as long as they are of a different specialty/subspecialty then it is considered external, but what if we get notes from another GI office that is not a part of our practice?

Also, since we have our own pathologists, will review of their path results be considered external since they are of a different specialty?
