Wiki Meaningful Use Stage 2 Vital signs ?

Are there any derm practices out there that are getting an exclusion for the core measure for recording vital signs: BP, Height/Wt, BMI?

We do not routinely take BP (only on a MOHS surgery) but would not necessarily do this on a patient coming in for a rash or routine skin exam.

I read some information on AAD.org and does mention a derm can excluded themselves if they take the "occasional BP, ht/wt, but goes on to say they can record just BP and exclude themselves from ht/wt. So which is it - exclude from all 3 or just report BP?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Lisa Tompkins, CPC

Meaningful Use Stage 2 Vital signs?

Lisa,
I have not heard anything about this. I might suggest to contact the Dermatology representative from the CPC book since they may be involved directly in these codes.
